As Christians, we are called to sacrifice ourselves for the benefit of others. This important principle of service is crucial to building character, deepening our walks with the Lord, and understanding the purpose and person of Jesus Christ. The Wesley Foundation offers an opportunity for you to lend a hand in our community and in the international community. Transportation will be provided. For a few hours you get the chance to make a difference in the lives of others. This also gives you an opportunity to accumulate hours on your Florida State University ServScript, but more than that, you get the satisfaction of knowing you made someone’s day a little brighter. We are told to love others because Christ first loved us. What better way to express that love than through serving in our local community organizations.
If you have any questions, contact our 2012-2013 Missions Team Leaders Logan Miles or Lauren Ballentoni.
For three years now we have established a relationship with missionary organizations in Guatemala. We started this by taking one trip in the summer of 2007 with over 30 students and serving local churches and orphanages throughout the country. In 2008 we tripled our efforts. Now we are taking a spring break mission team of only new students, one trip during December to Guatemala City and one to a village called Chontola. For more info, talk to Vance or Logan Miles.
We recently started our Nicaragua trip and
send a team during the summer to an
orphanage for mentally and physically
handicap children. For more information,
talk to Brooke Taddonio.
We also recently started send a team to Haiti during the summer. Our team serves at New Life Chidren’s Home, building relationships and learning how to better serve their children. For more information, talk to Erik Seise.
